With a history dating back to the 5th century BC, Wilpattu offers an intimate safari experience.
‘Willu’ and ‘pattu’ broadly translate as the ‘Land of the Lakes’ featuring 60 rainwater-collecting basins, and witness diverse wildlife, including exotic birds, during morning and evening safaris.
Optimal sightings occur during the dry season (May to September) and the lush post-monsoon season (October to December).

Day 1:
- 6:00 am: Depart from Colombo to Wilpattu.
- 11:00 am: Arrive at Wilpattu National Park.
- 1:00 pm: Lunch.
- 3:00 pm: Start the evening safari.
- 6:00 pm: Return to the campsite.
- Dinner and campfire at the campsite.
Day 2:
- 6:00 am: Coffee/tea and breakfast.
- 7:00 am: Depart for the morning safari, visit ruins, and explore activities around the jungle.
- 1:30 pm: Reach the campsite (Snacks provided during the journey).
- Lunch/BBQ by the river.
- Relax by the river and continue the night.
Day 3:
- 8:30 am: Breakfast.
- Relax by the river and explore the surroundings.
- 10:00 am: Depart from the campsite.
- 3:00 pm or 4:00 pm: Return to Colombo.

Important Notes
- Wildlife sightings are subject to nature, and encounters cannot be guaranteed.
- The stay is within the jungle, and extensive precautions have been taken to ensure safety. Any wildlife encountered should be observed from a distance.
- Departure from the campsite after 6 PM is strictly prohibited to minimize the risk of encountering wild animals during their active hours.
- The Camp Master’s instructions are final and must be followed. The Camp Master is highly experienced and prioritizes your safety.
- This is a rugged jungle experience, not a hotel stay. Room service is not available, providing an authentic and adventurous camping encounter.
- No meat will be cooked after 4 PM to avoid attracting wildlife. Previously prepared meat/ BBQ can be consumed, but strictly no cooking meat items after this time.
- Only chicken meat is allowed, no other types of meat.
- Carrying any substances classified as illegal or harmful is at your own risk.
- Smoking is allowed only for smokables, and the consumption of any other substances is strictly prohibited.
- Any food brought by guests, aside from sealed snacks, must be informed to the Camp Master prior.
- Stock up on personal items, including specific consumables, as there are no nearby shops, and the vehicle will not leave the campsite for purchases.
- We uphold a strict garbage disposal policy to ensure environmental preservation. We appreciate guests following these guidelines to leave the site clean and minimize impact on nature.
- Extreme loud music, such as blasting JBL party boxes, is not allowed. Moderate and enjoyable loudness is permitted.
- Guests are reminded to be vigilant, take safety seriously, and adhere to camp guidelines for a secure and enjoyable experience.
