Airport Entry

Entry to Colombo’s International Airport, known as the Bandaranayake International Airport, Katunayake is restricted to embarking passengers with tickets to fly. However, someone wishing to meet an arriving passenger may do so in the arrivals hall by purchasing an entrance ticket. That’s where arriving passengers should look for drivers and friends who’ve come to meet them.

Embarkation Tax

Is currently at Rs.1500, included in the ticket.

Departure and Transit Lounge

There are several shops in the transit and departure lounge at the Airport which sell gems, ceramics, handicrafts, batiks, cut flowers, books and picture postcards. Payment is only accepted in US dollars or credit cards, not Sri Lankan rupees.
